Introduction

Hidden Valley Middle School, home of the Raiders!

Innovating for the future

Our commitment to technology and innovation is founded upon three essential components:

STEAM

STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process. These are the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century!

Cross-Curricular Problem-Based Learning

We strongly believe that a 21st century education must prepare our students to face the challenges of an ever-changing world. This is why we incorporate Cross-Curricular Problem-Based Learning into our educational program. Students are challenged to apply their learning to solve complex, real-world problems. Our students are provided learning tasks that require them to seek out information, apply what they have learned, and build upon that to find solutions and innovate.

1:1 iPad Program

iPads are transforming the way we teach and learn. Our students have access to their own individual iPads in every classroom. These powerful devices are utilized as creative tools to engage and challenge our students in hands-on, customizable learning experiences that extend beyond the limits of the traditional classroom.

An education rich in technology and innovation is the key to unlocking future opportunities for our students. We will strive to provide them with powerful learning experiences designed to prepare them for becoming global citizens who contribute to making the world a better place.
